About .aac files

Files ending in .aac are usually raw AAC streams (ADTS), produced by some recorders, Android apps, radio captures and video tools that save the audio track on its own. Many players and websites don't recognise them.

AAC is already a compressed format, so converting re-encodes the audio. Choose a bitrate at least as high as the source; the MP3 can't sound better than the original AAC.

  • Handles raw ADTS AAC streams
  • MP3 output at 128, 192, 256 or 320 kbps
  • Optional sample-rate change
  • Clear error if the file isn't valid AAC
  • Free, private and quick
